Moltres has a catch rate of 3 out of 255, which makes it one of the hardest Pokémon to catch. In the Tall Grass Club meadow, better balls improve your odds.
In the Tall Grass Club catching game, Moltres lives in the Volcano, which opens after you've caught 10 Pokémon. Wild Moltres start turning up once your partner is around level 45. Legendary Pokémon only appear once you've caught 100 Pokémon, and only rarely. Tap Track on this page and it will turn up more often.
Moltres is weak to Rock, Water and Electric moves, so Pokémon of those types are your best bet.
